  Lipomas are tumors, filled with fat that develop beneath the dermis or skin. It is majorly recognized by its rubbery texture and is usually mobile on touch. Lipomas are usually asymptomatic and generally speaking, do not have any implications to one’s health and hence are rarely treated. They can occur at any part of the body but are fixed most often in the back, trunk, arms, shoulders, and neck. Since lipomas are common benign neoplasms, they are manifested in approximately one in fifty persons; there prevalence is slightly higher in middle-aged people between 40 and 60 years, and there incidence is slightly higher in women than men.
